This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the winners of our facebook mini-session giveaway. Three-year-old Adam and seven-year-old Josh are such wonderful brothers, Josh really looks out for Adam. Mom and dad even coaxed Josh into showing me his monkey impression, which had everyone in stitches.
Today at the University of Maryland, President Barack Obama addressed an energized crowd on the need for health care reform. I was thrilled to be up close to capture the enthusiasm of the crowd and the passion of the President's speech.
Delegate David Poisson is running for reelection in Virginia's 32nd district. Del. Poisson spends every evening pounding the pavement as he meets his constituents. He listens to their concerns about traffic, schools and transportation as he knocks on doors throughout Loudon County.
I photographed a group of teens working alongside adults with developmental disabilities at Red Wiggler Community Farm in Germantown, Md., where they picked green beans and cherry tomatoes. The vegetables grown at Red Wiggler fulfill CSA orders and are donated to local food banks.
The students also visited with seniors at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. The teens sang hebrew songs, danced and played games with the residents.
Lockerbie has once again been thrust into the international spotlight. Reporters, camermen and the curious masses are flocking to this small town in Southern Scotland to visit the memorial and ask residents how they feel about the release of Al Megrahi.
As a Syracuse University student, I had the opportunity to spend three weeks with the people of Lockerbie in 2002. A fellow SU alum, Tom Mason, put together a video about the project (yes, that is me lying on my stomach photographing the pipers, you can see the results below...)
My photos can be found in the beautiful book Looking for Lockerbie edited by Prof. Larry Mason, Jr. and Prof. Melissa Chessher. All profits from the book will go to a scholarship fund that supports the exchange program for Lockerbie students with Syracuse University.
Tiffanni and Mike were married at the beautiful Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa, Maryland. Despite the threatening storms, we didn't see a drop of rain all day. A rainbow even appeared over the golf course while the couple said their vows.
The tented reception featured lots of delicious details coordinated by Blush Wedding and Event Planning, from the multi-colored paper lanterns to menus for the cupcake bar. Tiffani and her fellow Syracuse University friends rocked the dance floor (yay S.U. alums!) although Mike and his boys definitely kept up with the ladies.
