Lockerbie has once again been thrust into the international spotlight. Reporters, camermen and the curious masses are flocking to this small town in Southern Scotland to visit the memorial and ask residents how they feel about the release of Al Megrahi.
As a Syracuse University student, I had the opportunity to spend three weeks with the people of Lockerbie in 2002. A fellow SU alum, Tom Mason, put together a video about the project (yes, that is me lying on my stomach photographing the pipers, you can see the results below...)
My photos can be found in the beautiful book Looking for Lockerbie edited by Prof. Larry Mason, Jr. and Prof. Melissa Chessher. All profits from the book will go to a scholarship fund that supports the exchange program for Lockerbie students with Syracuse University.
